KVCD: Ripping guide update?

hi new here hope everyone is good. in black prince,s guide when will the ripping guide be updated. thanks.

Hi,

There is not really guide update programmed, whatever the guide. But your question can be easily answered.

Actually to ripp a disc nowaday there isn't a lot of solutions : it's ripit4me or, for the latest discs, DVD Fab Gold (this is the only tool contuniously updated to new protection systems).

thanks mate i have dvd decrypter will that be any good. or is there any guides to useing ripit4me. sorry about posting in wrong part.

Dialhot 01-17-2008 07:06 PM

Ripit4me as a "1-click" mode. Just have to put the disc in the reader and click the button.

thanks mate. one other thing if you dont mind i made a bin/cue file with easyvcd but when i went to burn it to cd useing nero burning rom it said file was to big to burn to disc is there any way round this. thanks for the help.

Dialhot 01-18-2008 10:13 AM

I don't remember well how Nero deals with that; Better is to use Imgburn for burning.

skywalker 01-19-2008 12:22 PM

thanks, looks like im just going to have to get a bigger disc 800mb.

Dialhot 01-19-2008 01:08 PM

Wait a minute. How big is your file ?

When you speak about buying a 800 MB disc, are you talking about a 90 min CD ?

A 80 min CD already fits 800 MB of data in mode 1 (mode used for the VCD). That's 100 MB more than what is indicated on the box because VCD does not use any error correction method, so can handle more than a regular data CD. Actually you can go up to 820 Mb using overburn (if your burner allows it).

skywalker 01-20-2008 11:43 AM

hello mate my file is 751mb but disc is 702mb. yes ive herad about this but can not seem to do it. not sure how to find out if burner has overburn on it. thanks.

Dialhot 01-20-2008 02:10 PM

As I've said, if your file is 751 Mb, it is far below the limit of a 80 min disc.
Did you try imgburn ?

note: 751 is the length of the bin file generated by vcdeasy or the length of the mpg file ?

skywalker 01-21-2008 03:19 AM

had a go with imgburn keep getting failed to send cue sheet error.

Dialhot 01-21-2008 04:37 AM

Your burner is probably not supported by it then :(

Nevertheless you should look arround with Nero's option because a 90min disc won't be of any help : there are just 80min disc (and identified like this by all the tools) that are certified to support overburn up to 90 min.
If Nero can't, or thinks it can't, fit your movie on a 80 min disc, it will be the same with a 90 min.
Look at this section of the forum to retrieve (old) informations :
http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=14

But you did not answer : 751 is the length of the bin or the mpg ?

skywalker 01-21-2008 05:48 PM

sorry about that this is all i could find(new to all this as you can tell)bin size 863mb and the avi file that i converted with TMPGEnc 678mb. thanks.

Dialhot 01-21-2008 07:39 PM

Don't care about the avi. the bin is 863 so that is the mpg that is 751 ?
If yesn then don't look further : you used bad settings in vcdeasy. It must be configured to produce not standard VCD.

(edit: typo)

cheers Phil, will have another go with vcdeasy.
