KVCD and KDVD Compatibility Testing Discs

Compatibility Discs

The official KDVD compatibility testing discs allow you to verify the compatibility of your standalone player with both DVD-compliant and DVD non-compliant resolutions. The samples also verify the overscan values of your display for each resolution.

The samples were encoded with TMPGEnc using a minimum bitrate of 64kbps and a maxium bitrate of 4,500kbps. It was encoded in CQ mode at a value of 85 and using KVCD’s notch matrix.

Download

The official KVCD and KDVD testing discs image files can be downloaded in our forum. Note that membership is free. There are three total image files — one KVCD sample for CD-R, and two KDVD samples for DVD-R:
  • KVCD-samples-compat-v2.rar
  • KDVD-samples-NTSC.rar and KDVD-samples-PAL.rar
The two KDVD samples are stored as VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders inside of a .rar file. Simply unarchive the file with your favorite archiving tool (WinRAR), and burn to a DVD-R with ImgBurn in build mode.
