use KVCD templates with eazyvcd?

Just down loaded a kinda neat program by the name of "Eazy VCD"
and doing some testing with it.

No - this is not vcdeasy!!! Just want to make it clear - this is a different beast.

Seems to be just like dvd2svcd except it looks to be geared to noob's and/or people that simply want a one or 2 button option to rip to vcd.

The program does use tmpgenc so I naturally thought - why not use some known high quality templates.

As I type this, I'm in the middle of converting using the KVCDX3 Templates (mpeg2 that is). The only thing I need to check on is if a manual load of the template will hold or if eazy vcd changes the templates on a rip.

I will post up my test results (success or failure) when finished.

kwag, have you had an opportunity to play around with this? By no means is this even in the league with what dvd2svcd can do, but it does appear to be a bit less intimidating. What I need to make sure is that it's simplicity is not its limiting factor (i.e. that it's so simple you can only use what is supplied with it and nothig else). Anyways you seem to be on the ball about a lot different programs out there and I am wondering if you have anything or any desire to try this program?

Hi Phatty2x4,

Yes. I've seen the program, but it's very limited. Like no subtitles. Audio only encoded with TMPEG ( no external audio encoder support ), no chapters. Unable to frameserve with avisynth, and use it's filters. That's why I haven't used it. It's a great concept, but needs a lot of work (options). But as a "one click" basic DVD to VCD, it sounds like a very good alternative.

Yeah - very true!

I have a buddy who is just getting into converting and dvd2svcd makes him a bit nervous because of ALL the options.

Doing it manually is okay except I get call all hours of the night when he has a question.

What I was looking for is a very simple 1 click rip that has some options to it and to me eazy vcd seems to be the best of the 1 click rip/converts.

Oh well, I'll play around with it and see if it's even worth suggesting - who knows, maybe with a bit of tweaking it'll be just what the doctor ordered!

Or you can try DVD2SVCD, and load the matrices.ini and the kvcd_lbr.ini files. Then when you run DVD2SVCD for the first time, just go to the "Misc" tab and "Load" the kvcd_lbr.ini" Everything will be set for you. You only need to set your default output directory and select subtitles if you want. Then encode!
You can get the two files needed here: http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1478

I have tried that already. That is very simple to me but dvd2svcd is to much for my buddy. Way to many buttons for him to play with!!

I'm tring to keep it simple for him and sane for me!
