KVCD templates to make Low resolution DVD?
Kwag,
In Tmpgenc you can make low resolution DVD's. Is it possible to tweak your LBR template to create low res DVD's. I am inquiring about this because for the kids I would like to put something like 5 2 hr movies on 1 DVD. |
Take a look at this post

What authoring program to use
Spruce up does not accept the LBR movies nor does MYDVD are there any changes more to be done other than the audio?

Now your mpeg will be read by DVD MovieFactory and possibly DVDit and other authoring programs. Make sure that on frame rate it says "23.976 (internally 29.97)" -kwag |
Ok one more Try
If I use the template included in the TMPGENC wizard I have no problem authoring MPGE1 low res DVD's, What I want to do is be able to use your LBR template to have the best of both worlds. Movies that will fit on 1 CD and can be authored to DVD.
I have a dvd player that does not play SVCD so I want to keep most of my movies as KVCD LBR. Both Spruceup and MYDVD work with the low res DVD included in TMPgenc even if I encode at a low birate to fit on 1 CD but I want to be able to use your KVCD templates. |
Here's the deal. For an MPEG-1 to be DVD compliant, the frame rate must be 29.97. So you'll loose quality and space if you encode with the LBR in MPEG-1. If you take the LBR and change just the audio to 48Khz and set the frame rate to 29.97, DVDit and ULEAD DVD WorkShop will accept the file as a DVD compliant MPEG-1. I just tried it. But then, the file size will be larger than if you encode as MPEG-2 and 23.976 with 3:2 pulldown. Both modes will work, but the MPEG-2 will give you better results and smaller file sizes, for DVD target.
