Hi,

I've a mpeg-2 video file multiplexed with 2 different audio streams (german and english). To burn the video on cdr's I need to cut it into two parts. If I do this with TMPGEnc the second audio channel is lost. The filesize is as expected so the stream seems to be in the file but can not be selected by the player (which works on the single source file).

I've tried bbMPEG but if I open the .mpg file an error occours telling me that the file can't be opened!

Any idee??

Thx
Holger

hi,

here's something you can try: De-multiplex the file (not simple demux) with TMPGEnc and then remux with BBmpeg and select the mb or time to cut the file at under the general settings.

good luck!

Hi,

I don't need to demux because I've created the file and therefore have the parts a single files (one .m2v and two .mp2 files).

Runing bbmpeg produces an error. At the moment I press the Start Encoding button I get the following error: "Could not open |&." (yes including the pipe and amp char) and nothing happens. And if i try to open the m2v file before bbmpeg tries to analyse it and then tells me that the file can't be opened.

Try playing .m2v file using wmp. If there is a problem, the stream is
corrupt. bbMPEG is chocking on the .m2v.

The windows media player can play the mpg file with its two audio streams and I can switch between them without problems. So the mpg file seem to be ok.

Regardless of the problem cutting video with 2 audio streams with tmpgenc, I've done this another way ...
1.) multiplex the .m2v once with the german and once with the english audio track
2.) cut both .mpg files at the same frame (via tmpgenc because bbmpeg won't open the files)
3.) demux all 4 .mpg files to get the cutted source files
4.) remux first and second half of video each with both audio tracks
This way it works but has taken about 4 hours ... still searching for a better / faster way ...
