I just encoded a clip of 720x480 (New GOP, CQ-VBR Mpeg-2) and burnt it as cDVD, it looked great. I also tried to patch 544x480 to 740x480, burnt as cDVD. When I pressed the play button, the screen showed only the left portion (like other people having problem with 524x480 in Mpeg-1), a 2-3 seconds later, it played perfectly. I think the DVD player must be compatible with 544x480 in order to play KDVD with patched file. I think I will stick with full-D1. What would be the suggested Min and Max bitrate, and the value for CQ-VBR?
