I'm testing the new template now and so far it looks pretty good but haven't yet tried it on the home player. However, I have been using cq80 for quite a while now using the template before this one and have been getting near dvd quality even though I have to split the movie to 2 disks. The only thing I changed was in tmpg/quantize matrix I select output YUV data as basic YCbCr to make the black colors smoother.
