help with resize/borders in fitcd

Hei Kwag

I am using fitcd to generate the avs file for a movie downloaded in avi format. As you sugeested I move the round slider bar till I get the error to 0% but then the image is covered by black borders by more than half. Can some body please explain how to use the mpeg resizing in fitcd...

Here are the parameters generated by fitcd

BilinearResize(448,256,16,8,544,224)
#TemporalSmoother(2,2)
AddBorders(16,112,16,112)

Do I need to do anything with the film pixel? What does round to and the error mean? What effect would be checking the anomorphic and ITU?

Can you please please explain?

Thanks

You are trying to resize a 544x224 movie.

What target destination did you select in FitCD.
The (448,256) doesn't make sense.

Well, you're trying to fit a 544x224 into 480x480.
I think you're going to have a big problem trying to get a correct aspect ratio!

I haven't tried that, because I don't do DIVx to mpeg, and also that is a very weird resolution. 544x224.

You might get better results going to standard VCD resolution of 352x240.

...thebee,

i would go 352x240 like KwagKenobi said...or if the source is good try cropping and resizing (frameserving) with virtual dub and use tmpgenc as the encoder and bypassing avisynth, if all else is exhausted.

Try 480*272 or 352*136 and check the result in a software dvd-player like powerDVD or WinDVD.

I've been wondering what these do also. I usually leave both unchecked. It seems like when anamorphic is checked, the movie gets a little smaller vertically and that doesn't make sense because it says "stretches vertically by 4:3 to gain more detail". And what are CODED EGG-HEADS!!??

thx
