Audio Sync problem
 

Hi. Just found out about kvcd 120 minute template so i`d thought i`d give it a try. managed to encode it fine but the audio is out of sync with the picture. Can anyone help? Thanx in advance.

Is it out of sync in your PC or on your DVD player? If you play it in WMP and it's in sync, it should play in sync in your standalone DVD player. If you play it back with WinDVD or PowerDVD, it will playback out of sync.

It`s out of sync on both pc and stand-alone dvd player. the orignal file is avi if thats any help

It's hard to convert VBR Audio from Avi-Files... Check out if the source file has Variable Bitrate...

it does. wot i did was ripped the audio then direct steam copy with virtual dub then used fit2cd them tmpgenc. the audio is slighty out at the begining then gets worse as the film goes on

:? that sounds weird... Did you use an avisynth script? if yes, open the script w/ WMP and see if audio is out of sync at the beginning...
if you have the newest version of avisynth, you can also try to add the line
"EnsureVBRMP3Sync" ... See if that fixes it...

no, didnt use avisynth, just ripped it with virtual dub, think it mite be the video not the audio coz i ripped it from the original avi and mux it with the encoded video to see if that would fix the problem and still out of sync

you should try it with the avisynth script... see if that helps...

avisynth doesnt like the avi file so looks like its not gonna work. i`ll think i`ll give up.

just encoded the film without using fit2cd and the audio is perfect but the file won`t fit on the disc so it looks like it has something to do with fit2cd thats causing the audio sync problem can anyone give me any advice?

Whe I get audio sync problem I usually use the tmpgenc with the option in Environmental setting whit the tick at Directshow multimedia.
I put Like video surce the avs and like audio source the avi file.
That's should correct your problem.
To be sure I do the encoding in two pass : first video and then audio then multiplex.

just fix the problem. wot i had to do was change the audio settings in fit2cd and now the audio is in sync but i`ll try your way aswell logan555, thanx everyone for the help

:P great that it works for you buddy, but we usually don't use any audio settings in fitcd... we just use the program for correct resizing...

yeah, i thought it was strange as well. it was set to 112kbps on fit2cd and tmpenc was set 128kbps. set them to both the same and audio is in sync
