KVCD Template Comparison: Mpeg-1 vs. Mpeg-2 ?
Hi...
Right now I encoded lots of test-samples of some filter-settings and especially tweaked and standard templates... Is there a way to compare MPEG-1 streams with MPEG-2 Streams on my TV, without burning them on 2 discs? Could I put an MPEG2 stream on a Non-Standard VCD Disc or vice versa? |
My machine - a Dansai 1010 (v cheap from Tesco in the UK :D ) plays ISO CD's so i can just put the *.mpg files on a normal CD and burn them in Nero. When this is loaded on my player i get a little file manager which lets you select the file you want to play. It even supports directories. It has no problem mixing and matching different mpg resolutions etc
Its great cos i can do loads of test samples for mpg1 and mpg2, different overscan etc and burn to a cdrw to test! Give it a try, it might work for you. James. p.s - its only drawbacks are that long filenames are not supported so keep the file names short and fastforward / rewind is not available. |
I'm not sure, but I think you can multiplex the mpeg1 as svcd and burn them both (mpeg1 and mpeg2) as SVCD.

That's what I do put a movie whit double audio track.
Whit bbmpeg I make the final stream as svcd and put the video in Mpeg1 and the 2 ( or in case 1 ) audio tracks. Then I burn it like SVCD. It works on my yamakawa 788 ( raite outside Italy and German) , but I think it always works if your player reads SVCD. |
