717mb (video) + 78mb (audio) = 795mb which will fit on one cd- so, err- what's the problem? Do you mean the predicted sample size was too high?

Use VCD Easy to burn it and select Allow overburn and force execution under >SETTINGS>CDRDAO - it should work

Hi Shadowboss,
It sound like vcdeasy is padding the mpeg, try muxing the video and audio with bbmpeg using these settings the important setting in this screen shot is the 2324 in pack otions this will tell vcdeasy to burn the mpeg by its size not by its duration. This is how we are able to burn a 100 min mpeg onto a 80 min cd. Hope this helps.

I use bbmpeg v1.24 beta 13 cos it is the one that comes with dvd2svcd but it should be much the same,
1] open avi2mpg2.exe
2] click the start encoding button and then the settings button
3] on the input and output files tab click the "Open PS" button and set the location you want for the final mpeg file
click the "Open VS" button and locate the video source (this is the .m1v file)
click the "Open AS 1" button and loacte the audio source (this is the .mp2 file)
4] On the Program Stream Settings tab follow the screen shot from the link in my previous post. (thanks Kwag)
5] click OK and then Start and the file will be muxed.

You can use bbmpeg for this as well, if you follow the steps in my previous post to step 4, then click on the general settings tab and enter the max size as 795 mb, when you mux the video it will cut the file at 795 mb

isn't there a tool like tmpgenc where i can cut it every frame? i want a cut when a scenechange occurs and not exactly at 795mb.

btw, thanx for all your suggestions and tips. they helped me a lot.
