Encoding Digital Video to Satellite to KVCD
Is there any Program, that reads an Mpeg File, and gives me the following as an output:
Mpeg 1, 2 or 4 BitRate Video; BitRate Audio Interlaced or Not X-Resolution Y-Resolution Audio - Format (Mono, dolby digital, dolby dts, stereo) (My Problem is, that i have a digital satellite card, that just saves the data Stream that comes from the sky......the format varies depending on channel, daytime, luck, etc...) 8O |
Hi Shodan,
Almost every satellite transmission uses MPEG-2. Your saved file is probably MPEG-2 with some DVB stuff multiplexed in the stream. You can try to open your captured file with TMPEG, using the TMPEG tools, and use the "De-Multiplex" option. That will show you the streams, and you can select which you want to De-Multiplex. Another option would be to try to open the file with DVD2AVI, and create a .d2v project file. Then you can open this file with TMPEG and re-encode to VCD or whatever you want. -kwag |
:D Hey Cool! Just Works!
I can demux it in TMPGENC! ...but the bitrate...i wonder... Is this possible? TMPGENC says the following: Video Bitrate: 15.000 KB/s (15 mega!! a lil bit high...i wonder if this is the truth...) at 720 x 576 Sound: mpeg 1 Layer 2; 48.000 khz; 192 kbps... If the Sound is encoded in Dolby Digital - How do i get this info? Or does this info about the sound mean, that it is normal stereo? if yes, how would a dolby encoded Stream look like? |

Ok, so far it works
but now i've another problem: WHEN to cut the ads with virtualdub? I am transcoding my MPEG-2 from the Satellite to a lower bitrate KVCD - MPEG2 When is the best time to cut the ads out? i am planning on the following steps: 1) DEMUX with TMPEG 2a - audio) HeadAche transcoding 2a- video) DVD2AVI -> FITCD -> AVISYNTH -> TMPEG 3.) mux with bbmpeg 4.) author with vcdeasy 5.) burn image with nero where can i insert the cutting process? Can i cut the mpeg file with virtualdub without reencoding? or loosing A/V synth? |

isn't there another possibility? (preferably one that involves VirtualDub for the Cutting Purposes)?
