Kvcd: Panasonic rp82 & cp72 kvcd results!!!

I would just like to confirm that the Panasonic RP82 & CP72(5 Disc Version Of RP82)play all KVCD Formats Listed From Best To Worst Quality Below:

KVCDx3 MPEG-1
KVCD CQPLUS (352X480) MPEG-1
KVCDx3 MPEG-2
KVCDx2 CQ 2CD (704X480) MPEG-1
KVCD CQPLUS (352X240) MPEG-1
KVCDx2 CQ 1CD (704X480) MPEG-1

By the way the both the interlaced and progressive picture on both of these units is the best you can buy for under $250 and they have played every disc I can throw at them. I will be testing a Panasonic XP50(Same As RP82 but is better built) next.

These Panasonics are good units. I have an RV52 5-disc model and it plays all the KVCD MPEG-1 templates too. I've not tried MPEG-2 yet, but I know for a fact it won't play SVCDs.

The best I've found so far (non progressive) as far as cheap players that play all formats of VCD are the Sanyo DWM-370 ($140, Walmart, my current player -- plays ANYTHING!) and the Philips DVD-825 (older player (my first), no composite video, but also plays anything, good quality, cheap! Look on eBay...).

The RP82 and CP72 also play SVCDs flawlessly and it even displays SVCD on the screen when it plays them. These players also can play any type of CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW burnt at any speeds. All this plus the best MPEG Decoder and Faroudja FLI2200 deinterlace combo leads up to the best interlaced or progressive picture $200 can buy you. ;-)

I have a Panasonic RP-56, and I didn't even know it has built in a Sage/Faroudja chip until today 8O. It's not advertized in the manual or specifications.
The RP-56 should be now below US ~$200.00.
Here's a great review of some DVD players: http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/volum...-2-8-2001.html
