DVD2AVI: Forced film, IVTC and deinterlace all look bad!
Hi there,
I don't know what should I do with a DVD like this: Video Type = NTSC 100% Frame Type = Progressive DVD2AVI tells me the above, I tried "forced film", the result was bad. I tried IVTC--no good. I tried deinterlacing--no good. (no good means that I see combing effect) How come the original DVD plays fine in standalone, should I use "interlace" in Tmpeg, if so, what frame rate should be selected. Thanks! |
What movie is your DVD :?:

Hi Kwag,
It's an old Chinese movie (about 13 years ago), but the DVD itself was released a few years ago. |
Try this on your .avs script, right after the line where you load the .d2v:
Something like this: mpeg2source("C:test.d2v") Telecide() Decimate() And encode at 23.976fps. -kwag |
The HK DVDs can cause a lot of trouble. You can try encoding in mpeg 2 at 29.97 and using the interlaced resizing if kwag's solution doesn't work for you.
What movie by the way? And have you been to the HK Forum for edonkey? |
Hi m0rdant,
It is called "All about Ah Long", I believe you must have seen this film, right? I agree with you that HK DVDs are full of sh*t, 80% Hollywood's films are mastered as interlaced. I always have to IVTC. |
