If I record straight to MPEG 1 instead of AVI, do I even need TMPGenc?
I've been using VirtualDub for all my video needs. I just got a DVD player a month ago and I'm hot on making some VCDs. I've already used TMPGenc and VCDEasy to go from AVIs to playable VCDs.
Here's the BIG question. I can't get anything over 80 minutes on the CD like I keep reading about. I recorded an 120 minute movie and it came out to a little over 1 gig. I ran it through TMPGenc with the NTSC 352x240 template from KVCD and it was still over 1 gig. What am I doing wrong? Do I have to get the original file size down first? If I record straight to MPEG 1 instead of AVI, do I even need TMPGenc? Thanks. |
Another question
I've also noticed that if I take a DIVX file that's 400 meg or so and run it through TMPGenc, it comes out about 900 meg. What's up? HELP.
