Sound out of sync

Hi everyone

Im having a really annoying problem with DVD2SVCD

I have downloaded Kwags kvcd templates (Thanks Kwag) and I have created a kvcd
that works fine on the computer and on the DVD Player

but

when I try to create a SVCD I get the sound out of sync EVERY TIME
but its only out of sync only on the DVD Player, because it runs
fine on the computer

The only fix that has even come close to working for me is the
Movie offset seconds setting (under the bbMPEG tab), but this
setting only goes up to 5.

when i set it to 5 it had nearly fixed my sound sync problem

I think if it could go higher to 6 or maybe even
7 my problem would be solved, but as it only
goes as high as 5 im stumped.

Can anyone suggest a fix for my problem?

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I actually had a similar problem on a couple of movies.
Everything was right but the sound was shifted (vs. drifting)

I just took the .mpv file and the .mp2 file
and re-muxed with bbempeg with some rough estimations
of how far off things were. Using the interface or the cli you should be
able to tell it down the the millisecond how far appart you want to start them. If you can time the offset with a good sound, like a door closing
or a book dropping, etc. it should be fairly easy to see how far off it is
and in which direction it is off.

good luck
-Jeff

Thankyou

I will re mux the files as you suggested.

I have also read about other people having the same desync problems as myself on another forum.

There answer was to downgrade the DVD2SVCD program from the currrent verion to the 1.0.5 build 4 version

RE:(all the early 1.06 versions that used besweet have this out of sync audio problem. (1.06 build 1 - 1.06 b1 pre1 & pre2)

I can't comment on pre 8 or the new 1.06 build 2 because I went back to
1.05 build 4. I knew this worked for me. )

So I will try the 1.0.5. build 4 version to see if it solves my problem.

If you have a Dolby Pro Logic II-capable AV receiver, or plan on buying an AV receiver at some point in the future, you absolutely should start using HeadAC3he right now for it's Pro Logic II support. You simply won't believe the difference it makes when you watch (or listen to :)) the movie on a surround-sound setup.

Found the fix for me

Thanks to everyone for there replies.

I found a fix that works for me

I used SmartRipper to rip the DVd then

I downgraded my Dvd2Svcd to the 1.0.5 build 4 version

Under the bbMPEG tab I set the movie offset to 5 sec
and
The startup delay for the Video at 745(ms) for my Toshiba SD-2650 DVD Player

These bbMPEG settings are incorporated into the earlier version Dvd2Svcd
under the bbMPEG tab.
but

I also have a JVC DVD Player that uses a different bbMPEG setting
I set it to 5 for the movie offset setting
and I leave the Startup Delay for the Video at the default setting of 180

These 2 different settings work for me, but
can someone please tell me why these 2 Dvd Players need
different start up delay settings to run the same movie?

I find it really strange because when i created Kwag's KVCD it ran fine on both DVD Players under the same settings?

Obviously I have a lot to learn but if someone in the know could explain
to me in plain english why the same settings dont work on 2 different DVD Players playing SVCD's it would be greatly appreciated
