Pioneer Solution + Improvements
 

well, seem that the CQ and vbv of 22 or 48 causes much problem on my pioneer. after numberous test.. here is the result

MOVIE: Turn It Up (PAL) DVD
Time: 84mins

Using toolame audio encoder and ssrc

Resolution: 720x576
Rate Control: MVBR (max: 1300 min: 600) /with padding
Buffer Size: 22 <---important (vbv of 22 + CQ = audio problem)

Motion Search: Normal (Also can use motion estimate search, but causes fast forward and rewind problems)

Click on Output YUV data as basic YCbCr
Click on Use floating point DCT

--------------Audio---------------

44100
Stereo <---found not much data or zero difference compared with other channels..
128kbps or 160kbps

--------------System----------------

MPEG 1 VCD (Non-Standard)


Time Encode : 12hours
File Size: 760meg (780meg in nero)

Results: Excellent Pictures/Sound, all in sync with pioneer 636d and 343

Well, I'm happy with the results and finally solved a problems...one step process without going thru demuxing or anything else :D :D

PS.. I tried control mode of CQ and changing audio frequency or changing vbv of 22/48 and everytime resulted in skip audio/video... :twisted:

as you can all see, less action scene are perfect, high action scene have a bit of macroblock, but that is negible on a 60" TV 8)

There is no final product, as there is still more testing to do!!!! but so far a good video/audio quality and all burnt onto a 80mins :lol: :lol:

I could have increased the max bitrate to 1350-1400 to fill out cd and overburn..well still more test and trials to go... thanks kwags for the template...were all learning and helping each other with problems

btw.. with MVBR, use a bitrate calculator to find the max bitrate..
I use DVTools.. when you find it, add an extra 140 to it...(I didnt with the above test)... so if bitrate is 2000, add 100 = 2100

adding 100 to the bitrate, 99% of the time it will be under/around 800megs,

adding 120 to the bitrate will be result overburn.. :D

ok, as everyone know. kwag just recently released the new kvcd plus... but its still have some problem with pioneer dvd..

tweaking the setting as i speak now 8O

Hi rackaboy:

Try to encode about six 15 second clips at different VBV values in TMPEG.

Start at around 20, then 25, then 30, etc

Some players are very picky with this value.
