I had the wierd problems when I backed up episode 2 I got alot of read errors and scenes looped over and the languages changed each loop.

After kicking myself for awhile I tried something just to see if it was my cd/dvd drives were the problem I shared my dvd on the other puter and tried it and it went no problems then I tried it on the shared puter alone and read errors this is the same drive I just used shared and it worked so I thought fluke or microsoft bugs and forgot about it.

Now I have a friend who gets to vote for Oscar he brings me Lord of the Rings The Two Towers to back it up before he has to view it for oscar concideration and during the process I get read errors everything was the same as with episode 2 except no looping or language changes and at the very begining it has a disclaimer about being coded to prevent piracy so I did the shared drive thing it worked no problem then tried it on just one puter and read errors again.

Now does anyone have a clue to what is going on here or is it a thing fluke or bill gates bugs?????????

On my Red Dwarf Season 1 DVD each ~30 minute episode is
split into 8 chapters, but if you rip the 8th chapter (10seconds long)
with SmartRipper the VOB files from the first seven chapters get
overwritten. You need to manually deselect chapter 8 to get a
good rip.

I'd guess both these are rip-protection strategies aimed at making
it harder work to get successful rips. Anyone else got reports?
