Where can I go to download TMPGEnc 2.58? On tmpgenc web site it only says you can download 2.51.

Can someone help me?

2.58 is in fact 2.5.8. We are now at 2.5.21
(also called 2.521).
No need to DL 2.58 so, it is very old.

Do anyone have a link where I can download TMPGEnc 2.58? I'm going by what the guide said I needed to get the correct settings. Do the new version works for kvcd movies?

Are you blind or something like this?
Do you read previous Dialhot post.
Search internet for Tsunami MPEGEncoder official site and download last free version.

Edited: You can use any TMPGEnc version, except 2.59.

No, I'm not blind. I'm going by the guides on this site and that is what I needed. You don't have to be sarcastic. I'm a newbie I didn't know so I asked.

YOU DON'T NEED 2.58. TAKE A MORE RECENT VERSION
:banghead:
(except 2.59 as already told. and not the 3.0 also if you need to follow a guide as lot of things were modified in this last release).

Hi everyone

I´m having a recurring problem with my conversions to KVCD. I´ve been able to convert about 2 AVI files, one of them being 2h24min and the other 1h54min, they both fit on 1 700mb CD. I used the Simple Guide to Converting AVI to KVCD (http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5486). The quality of both was acceptable, having used the 352x240 ULBR and 352x240 LBR templates, respectively, for TMPGEnc.

These two movies played great on my stand-alone DVD player. However, I have been encoding other movies, with the same setting and other settings, and I have not had any success. When I play them on my DVD player, I get good sound, but the image is all wrong, with most parts of the screen blue and/or pixelated (I mean 1-inch pixels). When I play said VCD on my PC, it works perfectly.

The things I imagine I might be doing wrong are the following:

1) I am doing something wrong when I multiplex the audio and video. When I do this, what settings should I use in TMPGenc. Do I have to load a KVCD template or what? If so, could someone tell me what settings to use with different movie standards of compression/FPS etc?

2) I am using templates which don´t match the source AVI file when I first make an *.m1v file of said source file. Again, if someone can help me out with this.

As an example, I´ll give the specifications to an AVI file and could someone tell me what to do?

The Graduate:
Length: 1h41min15s
xvid codec
640x272
bitrate 889kb/s
25 FPS
64 kb/s mono audio

I´m guessing I could use the KVCD-CQ-352x576-PAL PLUS template to make the *m1v file. When I multiplex, do I load a KVCD template as well? If so, do I load the same one I used to make the m1v file in the first place?

What would be the highest quality I could encode this movie at?

Any help would be extremely appreciated, seeing as I´ve been trying a lot and have had at best limited (but good) results.

Cheers, sorry for the very long text

Hi everybody, I was following SansGrip's guide & installed the ReadAVS plug-in as per instructions. I unticked all my other VFAPI plug-ins in the Environmental Settings.

Now I can't load my avisynth script?? I changed my last line "ConvertToRGB(interlaced=true)" to "ConvertToYUY12(interlaced=true)".

TMPGEnc gives me an "unsupported file format" error message!?

Any suggestions?

Also to revert to my old way of doing business, can I just retick all the other plug-ins or do I need to delete the ReadAVS file and alter my registry??

Thank you!

Ah forget it fellas. I took out the "ConvertToYUY12" line & TMPGEnc accepted my script. Sorry, I should've done that to begin with. Hmm, I must say I think the results are better than before (with "ConvertToRGB"). Just looking at the test-encode on my monitor, skin tones look a bit better. I think the encoding time speeded up a fraction, too. Just a fraction!

Oh blimey, forget it. "ConvertToYUY2", not "ConvertToYUY12"...

I feel like a total DINK.
