Panasonic Mpeg 1 Encoder?

Anybody tried this software? It looks very similar to Tempgenc, and I'm curious... is it faster?

Better yet, can one of Kwag's templates be popped in there? It has a scripting box as well. Can you run filters in it?

It's not worth it Reno. Quality doesn't reach what you get with TMPEG.

Thanks... I won't bother.

Are there any encoders that match TMPGEnc quality? I see CCE mentioned here from time to time, or what about LSX, Media Cleaner, ProCoder and so on...? We have video production guys here and they swear by Media Cleaner.

Just curious.

I have tested LSX (standalone 3.5 & Premiere plugin 2.0), Darim DVMPEG 6, NERO mpeg(2) plugin, Intervideo WinCoder(1.5).

They are faster than TMPGENC (some are much faster), but the quality is not even close, plus each one has "bugs" of its own...

If you use CBR > 2000kbps the output of these encoders is watchable but with such a bitrate you can make an awesome encode in TMPGENC, it's only worth if you REALLY NEED the higher speed.

And when you know that TMPGEnc's MPEG-1 encoder is free of charge, it definitely is _the_ choice.
