I have noticed a lot of posts on this site about people not being able to get even near fitting a 2 hour movie on 1 CD. I have the same issue and have tried everything possible. I attempted the Sum of all Fears and the lowest I could go was 1127. I used the latest AviSynth with FitCD and used the correct filters. I used the KVCD-Plus 352x240 template. I also tried the KVCD-3 Mpeg 1 template. I used 352x240 res and 128 audio. I even tried reducing the height of the movie even more down to 192. I also set the quality down to 15 in the Automatic CQ-VBR. Still no go.
What version of TMPGEnc is everyone using? If you are using the latest, did you upgrade an older version?

The best i've got was with TMPGenc 2.57 .
TMPGenc v2.58 is OK too (v 2.57 is preferred by me)

I've done it.. 2 hours 15 mins on one disc, 128 audio, 480x352.

Sounds like you've got more reading to do

The proble was when I was muxing the audio and video I was selecting MPEG-1 Non-standard. When I changed it to MPEG-1 System(automatic) the file size was reduced substantially. I got 123 minutes down to 667MB. All my doubts of KVCD have been erased.

Tell me the size of video and audio files generated (mv1 and mp2).
One thing: you must multiplex using bbmpeg or tmpgenc (mpeg1 vcd no-standard), and not mpeg1 automatic.
