Hi houdini1er, you use moviestacker to create an avisynth script, becasuse you need it in order to use the avisynth filters. This will
give a cleaner video n help you aliminate noise and artifacts greatly;
Next, using tok will help you get correct prediction to your file size , this way short or a long file where you may have to cut end credits or part of a movie. Tmpeg internal predictor on the wizard does a poor job on final
file output. so if you want to do a good kvcd use this tools and you wont go run.

Hi EnNiS,

Have you noticed that this site has "with a purpose" content filtering on words

Just check if your Resize and AddBorder parameters are correct in avs script ( thay have to be as they are in MovieStacker )

Not sure where to post so since this was about divx I thought i would post my question here. I have a clip that when encoded plays black and white.

Here is my script:

LoadPlugin("C:\PROGRAM FILES\MOVIESTACKER\Filters\MPEG2Dec.dll")
LoadPlugin("C:\PROGRAM FILES\MOVIESTACKER\Filters\Convolution3D.dll")
LoadPlugin("C:\PROGRAM FILES\MOVIESTACKER\Filters\STMedianFilter.dll")
LoadPlugin("C:\PROGRAM FILES\MOVIESTACKER\Filters\GripFit_preview.dll")
LoadPlugin("C:\PROGRAM FILES\MOVIESTACKER\Filters\DustV5.dll")
LoadPlugin("C:\PROGRAM FILES\MOVIESTACKER\Filters\UnFilter.dll")
LoadPlugin("C:\PROGRAM FILES\MOVIESTACKER\Filters\LegalClip.dll")
LoadPlugin("C:\PROGRAM FILES\MOVIESTACKER\Filters\Sampler.dll")

AviSource("C:\My Documents\MacGyver\Convoy .avi")
ConvertToYUY2()
LegalClip()
UnFilter(50, 50)
GripCrop(352, 288, overscan=2, source_anamorphic=false)
GripSize(resizer="BicubicResize")
STMedianFilter(8, 32, 0, 0, 8, 32)
FaeryDust()
MergeChroma(blur(1.5))
MergeLuma(blur(0.2))
Convolution3D(preset="movieLQ")
GripBorders()
LegalClip()

The clip on the computer after being encoded plays in color but once I put on disc and put into standalone it is black and white. Any advice appreciated.

You are in the USA and you use a PAL res (352*28 : It's quite sure that your resulting KVCD was encoded in PAL, and then your TV set will show it in B/W

Change the reso to 352*240

Hey Dialhot thanks for the reply. You are right that I am in the US and the clip is PAL, so I used the PAL template. My standalone is able to, or is supposed to be able to play either ntsc/pal video cd's. I know I have the book somewhere, gotta dig in the closet, maybe I have to set it to play pal. The disc plays fine but just in b/w. You mentioned to change the resolution, can that be done using the pal template? Thanks for the reply!

Newbie here.
Step 2, once you do that, do you hit run, or start anywhere? What does it otherwise. I dont get it.

And with TOK..what does that do.

I've been just converting using TMPGenc, and a KWAG template, and its been pretty good. will these steps make it better?

Excuse the ignorance of my questions. I am very new to all this.
