I had a problem disk that I couldn't rip with clad so I finally got it to rip using DVD Decryptor. Put it to DVD2AVI and everything looked normal. Opened TMPGenc and loaded your template. The only thing I changed was the source is 4:3 and I used full screen and changed the video size down to 352x240. On testing I find the audio comes in 8 sec late. This is the first time I've had this kind of problem. Is there any way to sync the sound back up?

Hi Yoda:
Try one of the latest versions of DVD2AVI. I think version 1.82.
I haven't had that problem, but I've seen reports of your problem.
You may want to use the latest version of CladDVD XP. Only if you're running Windows XP.

I think I have it figured out. Somehow 10 secs was added to the beginning of the sound track file so I adjusted with TMPG. Re-encoding now to see if it's fixed.

I had that problem a while ago, and was shown a way to overcome it by using smart ripper (Latest version 2.41 is best and compatible with most O/s's now)
On the source page highlight the stream processing tab - enable stream processing - then select [0xE0] the main MPG stream and [0x80] the main AC3 stream, all the others deselect. You will not rip all the directors commentarys all the foreign languages and subs this way and cut down on ripping time also.
Doing it this way i had no problems with the 2 films i was having sync probs with.

My player had some troubles playing kvcd's. It makes a roll back a fraction of a second that makes the image blink, i solved this increasing the motion search to high(slow). Hope this helps to anyone else having a Konka 1800u (hahahaha i think the only other person that had this model too left me alone the other day when his player got broken, so sad )
DaDe.
By the way kwag, do you think this change in the motion search makes the resulting mpeg bigger?

Hi DaDe
No. Actually it will make the file a little smaller. But it will take way longer to encode. More than the "Normal" setting, as it is in the template. Quality wise, there's hardly any difference.

Hi Kwag,
I'm having an audio sync problem. Everythings great until a few minutes into the movie the audio gets a fraction of a second late and progressively gets worse. I ripped a movie (the Troublemakers) with Vstrip and made a project file with DVD2AVI (ver 1.76) and encoded with Tmpge with your template.
One thing though, is that the video tools I'm using (Vstrip, DVD2AVI, decomb.dll, etc..) are the ones that came in the DVD2SVCD bundle. Are they tweaked to work better with SVCD's and should I download clean versions?
I read where another guy had an audio sync problem and in Tmpge he changed the DirectShow filters priority from -1 to +5. I don't know what this means- I'm still trying to figure out how to specify the CD size! (the change bitrate screen is greyed out)
many thanks

Hi rendalunit !
Looks like your player cant manage VBR .
Go to http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=38
Try demux with TMPGenc & Remux with bbMPEG as it is in guide.
If prob still repains than demux with TMPGEnc and remux file to mpg as VCD(system) or SVCD(system).
See what's better for you

hey Bman,
thanx for the advice. Actually I screwed up I was entering the wrong parameters in Fitcd. But I did try to remux the mpg with BBmpeg and it couldn't read the audio stream for some reason.

hey all,
i have an mpeg file which is out of sync, the original file when i downloaded it was out of sync. now i've been to vcdhelp and used the method they described using tmpgenc and goldwave editor but that didnt work it stays the same perhaps even gets a little worse. i think this is beacuse of an error i get in tmpgenc when i go to simple multiplex it multiplexes all the file maybe 99% im not sure i cant tell but i can watch it. But at the end after its finished multiplexing it gives a message saying Warning
161993 s packets cause buffer underflow.
The MPEG file might cause error when played. ( this is y i cant see if it multiplexex 99% or 100% because this pops up) is this because of an error im tmpgenc? any help suggestions? ps thanks alot 4 b4 kwag im not having any cutting/merging problems now.

Is the audio/video difference "out of sync" constant?.
I mean, if the audio is lagging, say 100ms., is it constant througout the file.
Or is it in sync in some parts and not in others.
If it's constant, you can use TMPEG, and re-encode with an "audio gap correct" in milliseconds ( either negative or positive, depends if audio is leading or lagging ).
Look for this in TMPEG under Settings/Advanced/Source Range

i had the same problem a few days ago ( yep i am newbie ) the problem was solved by ajusting the FPS i was seting the FPS at 29 when it was supposed to be at 23 so the video starts going faster and the audio is kept behind ( at least i think how that works , but lowing the FPS o 23 from 29 fixed the problem )
i hope that helps

I think I have this problem right now! I encoded "proof of life" and the audio is way ahead of the video like about 10 sec just in the first two min of the movie. I IVTC'd this movie but maybe it's supposed to stay at 29.97 fps. Well here goes another 8 hours of encoding.....

I just encoded 3 minutes of the movie at 29.97 fps and the audio was still ahead by about 3 seconds. Does anyone know what could cause this?

hello Kwag and everyone else,
I'm having an audio sync problem with the movie "Proof of Life". Each time I encode this movie the audio begins at the "this film is rated R" screen but on the original dvd it starts at the Warner intro screen so it's about 5 seconds fast. I read the various guides to correct audio problems and it looks like many hours of guesswork to get it nailed correctly- and a stopwatch is mandatory. Also I saw where you can do it with M-1 Edit and Cooledit.
So my question is this: What is the easiest method if correcting the audio sync problem WITHOUT using M1 Edit (because I don't own it)??
Also if anyone has a possible explanation as to why this is happenning I would really appreciate it!
thx very much

rendalunit,
I think you ripped an extra VOB from your DVD.
Check that out.
