Hi again:

I just bought a new computer (HP P4 2.4G, XP) and started having a strange problem with converting the Divx AVI to KVCD.

I tryed to convert (with TPMGenc) several times using a new KVCD templates (LBR and ULBR) and the MPG files are comming out the same size as a standart VCD.

I converted with LBR Templates before (on Win 2K, P2) and the size difference was quite noticable (about half). I wonder what is going on now???

I even tryed to use a standart VCD template and changed the CQ to 70 and then 60, but still the outcome was the same.

I tryed on the 2 different movies, one is 384x288, 29f/s and the other 740x480.

Please help!!!

Hi qute11,

Download the latest version of TMPEG (2.510)
Version 2.59 has serious problems like what you are just describing.

Wow, TMPGenc problem!!?!?!?!
I wouldn't figure this one out for some time.

Thanks a lot, I'll get a new version.

BTW, about the DVX to KVCD article, why is the conversion is getting more and more complicated? What are the avisynth and Headac3he steps are for? Isn't just TMPGenc enough?

not only:
avisynth steps....
filters,file prediction,"auto resize".....lot of choices and automatism.

headac3he steps....
better quality in audio,no sincro problems, preview the size before encode,......lots of good results.

seems complicated....but itsn't.
read and see that all passes take you to encode with full automatism
and to get a better result with help and tutorial.
if you have troubles, just ask and black prince,Kwag,Sansgrip and
others will help you.
really good.
follow the tutorial,it's nice and works.
