YMPEG

Thanks black prince, you may also add this link:

http://www.geocities.com/ymotiwala/ympeg.html

YMPEG Supports : MPEG-1, MPEG-2, VCD, SVCD

Special feature of YMPEG is that it can integrate itself with Windows and offers seamless encoding from your favorite applications. Thus
providing simplest way to encode without creating any intermediate file or using frameserve.

As far as I know, currently YMPEG is only freeware MPEG codec to offer this feature.

Special requirements: SSE Support

Sample instruction on using YMPEG with VirtualDub is give on website.

Regards,
Yusuf

sampler.dll!?

Hi, sorry if im posting in the wrong place but ive been searching around with very little success for some time.

Ive been trying to work through "DVD/DivX to KDVD/K(S)VCD using CCE/TMPGEnc - By vmesquita" which is @ http://www.kvcd.net/portal/articles.php?lng=en&pg=23

All complicated stuff to me (newbie to just about everything :) ) but its going ok but i cannot find the file sampler.dll which is said to be @ http://www.jungleweb.net/~sansgrip/avisynth/ in the quide

And without it im not exactly sure how to calculate the correct Q factor so if anyone can tell me where to get this file for AviSynth 2.5 please let me know!

Matt

Thanks for any help

Prodater64 04-28-2004 12:21 PM

It would be interesting to link here all MencodeMe versions (including first full download).
Last versions aren't full, as mencoder.exe is not included.
Link to ffvfw MakeAvis and mplayer also would be usefull.

I think this is a good idea as I have no idea what version of ffvfw to download and which version of FFDShow for that matter lol.

I never heard of this version is it any good?

The last version I downloaded was 0.9.993 and the latest version shown in the Acp forum was 0.9.991 so I dont know why delaosa hasn't posted these new version :?:

The version you have posted is quite an older one there was two newer ones posted on this forum but I guess the links are dead now along with the acp section im afraid. :(

Kitster 06-11-2004 08:54 PM

Thanx mate :D

William 07-10-2005 02:39 AM

OK, maybe it's just that I'm blind... but where the heck do I download kvcd from? Can't find anything on this site. :-(

rds_correia 07-10-2005 05:09 AM

And what exactly do you want to download?
All that you need to encode your movies is on the 1st page of this topic.
Be more specific.
Cheers

William 07-10-2005 05:58 AM

Well, I thought that there were some sort of encoder, or software to make kvcd's, but seems to me that nothing on the first page of this thread is made my the people behind kvcd.net. So what's the point of having to pay to be informed that other people make what you need? That smells a bit fishy to me.

Dialhot 07-10-2005 08:41 AM

KVCD specifications are avalaible for free.
KVCD templates also.

If you need explanation to use them, then you have to register on the forum. Or go on an other forum to ask about it (but you won't have the same quality of answer).

kwag 07-10-2005 10:40 AM

@William,

You did read this before you joined, didnt' you :?:

Code:

"What is KVCD?
"K Video Compression Dynamics"

KVCD is a modification to the standard MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 GOP structure and Quantization Matrix. It enables you to create over 120 minutes of near DVD quality video, depending on your material, on a single 80 minute CD-R/CD-RW. We have published these specifications as KVCDx3, our official resolution, which produce 528x480 (NTSC) and 528x576 (PAL) MPEG-1 variable bit rate video, from 64Kbps to 3,000Kbps. Using a resolution of 352x240 (NTSC) or 352x288 (PAL), it's possible to encode video up to ~360 minutes of near VCD quality on a single 80 minute CD-R. The mpeg files created will play back in most modern standalone DVD players. You must burn the KVCD MPEG files as non-standard VCD or non-standard SVCD (depends on your player) with Nero or VCDEasy.

Using KVCD parameters to create DVDs (KDVD), will enable you to create 100% DVD compliant MPEG-2 streams, capable of playing on any standard DVD player. This will allow you to put up to about 6 hours Full D-1 720x480 on one DVD, or about 10 hours at Half D-1 352x480."

Which is very clear at the top of the main site.
As for software made by other people, some of it yes, and some of it is EXCLUSIVELY made by us, like CQMatic, CalcuMatic, etc. Download links for those are on their corresponding forum areas.
When you use these tools combined with the experience of many many people here on the forum, you'll get the best quality on the smallest footprint.
This is no "one click" method or application. It's an advanced process, and takes a little time to master. That's why it says "Advanced Video Conversion" at the top of the forum.
