About DVD2ONE
Hey, man, you don't see - it's only muxer/demuxer (AC3 rip, subtitles rip)? :) It's just demux VOB, throwing away AC3 streams and subs what you not selected and mux vob again with new IFO and BUP :) I don't believe in magic :)

My guess is that he's using the existing MPEG stream as a big "hint file" for reencoding it -- theoretically all the motion estimation information is already present in the source stream, eliminating the most time-consuming part of the encoding process. This arguably should be considered "transcoding" rather than "encoding". I read a post on Doom9 a while back about this kind of approach. Let's bombard him with emails until he makes a KVCD version . |
Hey guys,
I finished "The Green Mile" with this thing, and I can tell a very and I mean VERY little difference from the original when I played it on my HDTV. It brought the original 7.24GB DVD down to 4.36GB WITH the AC3 audio, closed captions and subtitles 8O I can see some slight blocks (barely) on some scenes, but they are also present in the original DVD. Just a little harder to see. I think it's really incredible the way a 180 minute movie is transcoded in less than half an hour to a new VIDEO_TS folder ready to be burned. I used ImgTools to burn to a 4.7GB DVD-R. I just watched about half hour of the movie and all I can say is :jawdrop: I mailed the author a suggestion. If he could make a DVD2xVCD or DVD2manyCDs version  Hope he visits this site, takes some of the ideas, and implements a similar program for CD's. It would be a bomb  -kwag |
It would be a bomb
8O yeah! hey,the prog have only 92k!!!!! 8O 8O 8O |

The quality you get from the demo is exactly what you get from the purchased copy. -kwag |
Of course, you can still only fit one movie on a DVD .

Or even a KDVD with ~6 hours on a DVD-R :D -kwag |
I wonder what would happen if I use IfoEdit and rip three DVDs and merge them together by tweaking the ifo
Then we can see how good DVD2ONE is, by fooling it to make the three movies on one DVD-R  Seriously  -kwag |

Something popped up in my mind
DVD2one has to read the ifo to know how long the movie is. So if I edit the ifo, and patch it to make it think that the movie is, say twice the play time , theoretically it should encode to the same target ( One DVD-R ) but with reduced bit rates, etc. Maybe we can see how good the internal transcoder in DVD2one is  |
hi guys. i purchased DVD2ONE yesterday but i havent had time to check it out properly yet. i did try it out on "The Matrix" and got it on to 1 dvdr but its only 131mins long so its no major achievement there, anyway like Kwag said i to will only use it where and when it suites me. the good thing about Mr. Van den berg is that he updates and inproves his software very often, so maybe he might incorperate some of the great features of KDVD into his program in the future?

Anything new to report? |
Hi Racer99,
On ifoedit's site www.ifoedit.com you'll find the guides on how to join multiple VOBs :D Some time today, I'm doing the movie "Rose Red", which is 254 minutes on two DVDs 8O, so I'll be joining the VOBs so that DVD2ONE will process this movie as a single DVD. The instructions are very clear on ifoedit's site 8) -kwag |
You Da Man :!: :!: :!:
Thanks  |

well, here is what i did:
copied second moive VOB files from smartripper into first movie after renaming them. so that VTS_01.VOB TO VTS_05.VOB ARE FROM first dvd and vts_06.vob to vts_09.vob are from second dvd. These sources have noise. one of them is full screen. each of them are 2:30hours totalling 5hours. output: sucks big time why? 1. 5hours is too much for it 2. one is full screen film 3. no force film or ivtc applied 4. no noise filter applied 5. no resize applied 6. Not designed by KWAG, the Magic Man 7. noisy sources opinion: i would say max is 3hours is what u can put in 1-dvd-r blindly with comparable quality i hope this tool will do Force Film in future. PAL might be working better for this tool, then. My State: dvd: only one movie per DVD-R, I want to put kvcdx3 so to put more kvcdx3 etc: all Kwag's templates lost compression and mosquitoes everywhere in the movie, Pl. no offence Kwag. I am sure its just for me but donno why. Morale: I should spend very less time on this stuff to copy a movie which I may not replay at all. |
