Kvcd: My movie is squashed?
 

I am new at your KVCD encoder and I load the .d2v file into TMPGEnc because I dont know how to use FitCD yet and I am trying to encode a PAL movie to PAL KVCD and when the preview is showing durin g the encode you can see that AR looks good but there are enormous black lines above and below. Then when I play it in my Standalone Deck the black lines are still there and the movie is only about half of the hight that it was before. What do I do so that the KVCD template wont squash my movie?

HAHA GUYS I GOT IT!
I made the movie unsquashed and now I will encode the video in full. I have compared with the origonal and my encode is of better quality. I know you are saying WTF!?!?! right about now but I am serious. I messed with a few settings and did color correction and changes contrast and other attributes and this baby is sweet!!! And the best thing is, I will get better wuality on one CD than I had on three. Dude if you charged for these settings I would gladly pay for them I love you!

:?: a_star62, what did you do to get the picture from being so narrow? Did you change the setting to 352x288? I am unable to use the templates as is because none of my dvd players don't like 352x480 or 704x480 so I am curious as to what you did to get it to work. Thanks :)

PS... you CANNOT have something that is compressed and better than the original.. unless the original was dark or something and you made it brighter :P

If you would have read the post I stated that I made color corrections. Just like you said but it was bright and I made it darker. There was also too much blue so I changed the blue value.

And to answer the other question, when your DVD player plays the movie and it is squashed, it is not because it doesnt like it but it is because you told TMPGEnc to keep the aspect ratio and not stretch it to to the full screen. You need to select full screen in the vide option settings.
