Hi there. I'm a newbie to this, so if I miss something out I apologise in advance.

I've been trying to convert a DVD to SKVCD using DVD2SVCD using the settings outlined in other posts. My settings are as follows:-

Frameserver:- Output:- MPEG2 352x576
Bitrate:- Max:2500, Min:128
Encoder:- TMPGEnc CQ_VBR with GOP 1,24,2,1,24
Matrix:- The latest I could find (KVCD Beta 1?)

I'm using VCDXBuilder to create the .bin/.cue.

When I play it back in WinDVD it appears to work fine, but with no sound.

When I play it in my standalone DVD player (a Yelo 800) it plays back perfectly, with sound - except the picture appears to have shifted a third of the screen to the left (i.e. the right two thirds of the picture are visible).

Anybody seen this before, or no how to cure it? It's got me stumped.

Thanks in advance.

The Woodz

Try using VCDEasy with VCDXBuilder to create the .bin/.cue?

like ovg64 posted:

i got lots of kvcds from dvd2svcd.

Frameserver:- Output:- MPEG2 352x576
Bitrate:- Max:2500, Min:128
Encoder:- TMPGEnc CQ_VBR with GOP 1,24,2,1,24
Matrix:- The latest I could find (KVCD Beta 1?)

everything in your adjusts seems ok.
but i don't use VCDXBuilder to create the .bin/.cue. file.

i tick "don't delete any files" in the "misc." tab and
tick "don't make images" in the "cd image" tab...

got the final file and burn with nero.

Well if you got to here after the huge advert above - congratulations!

Well it's fixed - but I don't know why. The only thing I changed is the Aspect Ratio from Anarmorpic to 16:9 - and it started working. However - when I changed it back to Anarmorphic it didn't have the same error as before - but rather just flickered.

So really none the wiser - but happy that I can generate SKVCDs with DVD2SVCD and VCDXBuild - but will probably use VCDEasy for chapters in future.

Thanks for the help!

Der Woodz
