a question to all those kvcd experts out there

i have a 90 min file, file prediction tells me, i can use cq 66 , if the max bitrate is 2500 and min bitrate 300 (standard settings)

will i get a better result , if i lower the max bitrate to eg. 1200 and set the cq value to 100??

Hi Kane,

Let me extend your question for these guys. If I have the same 90 min file, which is the best results: to make it with a low resolution (320x240) with high CQ number, or make it with a better resolution (528x480) but with a lower CQ number?

Not if it's a high action movie.

I'm not even doing 352x240 anymore with the new filters. 320x240 is out of the question. That's way lower than standard VCD resolution. For regular ~2 hour action films, I put everything on one CD at 528x480 with FaeryDust and TemporalCleaner. Longer than that, I encode for two CD's with SpaceDust and TemporalCleaner

hi kwag...

do you have a sample of a ~120 min. movie that you DID put on one CD with these settings? I just wanna make sure that my encodes still look like they are supposed to look...

Here's one:
http://www.kvcd.net/redplanet-cq78-faery-c3d.mpg which is close to 2 hours.
There are many more samples scattered here: http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2339
