First frames of CD are jumping
 

I've done a few KVCD's now but still get the same problem each time. The first frames of the film (about 10 secs) jump about and are out of synch e.g. text on opening credits. Once it is passed this point the rest of the film is fine (strangely enough if I do a 2 CD version the 2nd disk plays fine all the way through). They play OK on PowerDVD so I'm assuming my DVD player doesn't like the start of a KVCD encode (I used the Red-M Guide and I've tried upping the CQ). Therefore, is there anyway to add 10-15 secs of blank frames to the start of each encode in TMPGenc to get around this - would this work or can you suggest anything else (I'm using Nero to burn - is it possible to add a similar pause using Nero?). Not a huge problem to put up with but would be nice if I could find a solution.

Check your BBMpeg settings and see if the "Start seconds" is set to 0. If it's not, change it. Try that :wink:
It seems it's a muxing error.

checked that and the start second is definitely set to zero - I saw something called startup delay (ms) under program stream settings - is this something I could change? or do you think adding 10-15 secs to the start of the encode would solve it, how would I go about adding this. Or is there something else you could suggest, as I say it happens with all the kvcd's I do.

Could it be that the bitrate is too low for your standalone player in the beginning :idea:

If there's nothing but darkness (and some text), the bitrate would be very low.
