352x480 at 77CQ or 704x480 at 64CQ?
 

Well topics says it`s all what will bring me the best result???
BTW I modified the KVCD2 704x480 template to 480x480 I did the file size prediction and the file came up 400 mb larger than it should any ideas why?? I already modified a the 528x480 template to 480x480 couse my player don`t like the 528 res. but the the file prdiction end up well, :roll:

So what you are saying is the choice is between either 480*480 res or 352*480. if you are using avisynth, then the best res would be using 352*480 with sanscript's sharpen filter. i have got fantastic results from that combination when i want to sqeeze one movie onto one cd when the kvcdx3 is too big. Try it out.

Nope my question is 352x480 at 78CQ or 704x480 at CQ64.....

And I try the same you did, I change the resolution of 704x480 to 480x480 to increase the CQ but for some reason the file size prediction didn`t work.
So My choices are 352x480 at 78 or 704x480 at 64 :wink:

352x480 at 78 :wink:
You'll have a clearer picture with far less blocks. It won't be as sharp as 704x480, but on action scenes, 704x480 will suck at that CQ :D

Thanx a lot Kwang, I after all I was goign to use 352x480 couse the 704x480 will take me ~20Hs to encode vs ~12 with 352x480.
