OK, I was encoding half of Predator 2 to SVCD, left it encoding over night. This was in VBR encoding. When I woke up the next morning it said 9 Hours Elapsed and 272 HOURS REMAINING!

My Comp Specs.:

1GHz Intel P3
384MB SDRAM Memory
40GB HDD (8GB Free)

Why is it taking 272 hours to encode??!!

I had a problem a bit like this, where the longer it took to encode the longer the time remaining would get, the more RAM would be eaten up and the slower my system would get ...I fixed it by unenabling multi-threading...click Options, Environmental setting, CPU, and make sure multi-threading is unticked. If it's not ticked and that keeps happening then I have no idea....
