ok i finally made my decision...it will be kvcdx3 mpeg-1 528x480 with a cq 60 because i can't go higher with tmpgenc & bbmpeg (read my other posts)...i have burned my creation but the video & sound seem to be jumping at some places not everywhere...it is not playing smoothly...seem to be skipping when action is faster...what can we do???

thx

Seems that your player doesn't like the MAX bit rate you are using
Try some samples and encode with 200Kbps or 300Kbps lower than your current MAX. See if you can find what MAX your player supports.

I've noticed that I can raise my bitrate if I lower the CQ. Which should more readily be given up?

I found on my old DVD player that if there was a low minimum bitrate (0) and a high maximum bitrate (2500) on VCD's I would have sound issues. I needed to raise the minimum up and the maximum down a little.
