Hi!,

I was using mpeg tools from tmpgenc to cut a file, but I didn't choose any range of the mpeg film. Then I click run and after finished, I was surprised, cause the whole film was in the output, but not only that, but also the size was hundrets of Mb less. I've tried several times with diferent files and same result.

What the hell is happening?
How many time We can fit in one CD this way?
Someone can verify that?

I'm anoyed, but it's great!!!

Please, just tell me if works for You too and if anyone knowns, why this happens.

Greetings,
GoBo

Did you choose Non-Standard VCD as output in Merge and Cut dialogue?

That's what I'd like to know... Using MPEG-1 Automatic as muxing method would maybe save you 20 MB, because it has no VCD Header... however hundreds of mb ?? Explain please!

As easy as sound:

Amelie before "ghost cut" 1,13 Gb
Amelie after "ghost cut" 528 Mb

The whole film is still there I promise. Perhaps only that rewind in movie doesnt work well. Perhaps something about GOP structure?

Don't use TMPGEnc 2.59 as it has muxing problems. The reason that your file was so big before was that you used VCD (Non standard) and the bug in 2.59 was muxing it as a VCD (standard) and therefore padding it to the huge size you mentioned. When you chose MPEG-1 Automatic it was smaller because this option doesn't have the bug.

If you use TMPGEnc 2.510 then you can choose VCD(non standard) because this bug is fixed.

Regards, Tenra
