KVCD: Need only virtualdub to frameserve?

I have a svcd of LOTR2 and want to add subtitles to it.
I use virtdub to frameserve.
The SVCD is a NTSC movie (fps:29.97; 480x480)
Which (K)SVCD template can I use in Tmpenc without having loss
of video quality?

There is always some loss when you recompress data. However, if your source is extremely high quality, then you probably won't notice the difference that much. Go for the SKVCD

I might use SKVCD template but don't i need a SKVCD template
for NTSC.
On the website there is only templates for NTSCfilm and PAL
Or am i wrong

Hi twelyrt,

Just change the frame rate in the template to 29.97fps and Interlaced, instead of 3:2 pulldown

Hi kwag

I tried SKVCD (352x480) but i was not content with the result.
I also tried the standard SVCD template which gave me a clearer video
image.
As my dvdplayer doesnot support svcd in do the headertrick and use the
mpeg-1 vcd header giving me a high quality better as a standard vcd.

By the way is it possible to create 90min of svcd quality on one cd.
When I do the headertrick my mpg file of ± 386MB increases around 60-70 MB (why is that). Therefore i cannot put two files on 1 cd.
