Ripping DVD and converting with Sefy's guides...

I just ripped Carlitos Way using smart ripper and Seffy's guide for idiots, er, I mean newbies.

Using Smartripper for the rip and dvdto avi for the d2v file and audio track, I then open TMPGEnc load the KVCD template. Its a long movie so 2 dics isn't a problem. I use tMPGEnc to cut it into 2 sectors, and I begin encoding the first (almost) 80 minutes and find thet TMPGEnc need 6 and 1/2 hours to do cd1!

This can't be right can it?
I know I only have a duron 750 and 256 mb of ram, but still.

It cant take like 10- 14 hours for a 2 1/2 hour movie can it?

Please tell me what I did wrong. :(

Yes it can :D
I have a Pentium 4 running at 1.6GHZ, and a 2 hour video takes about 4 1/2 hours to process.

Remember that the reasolution you are creating is 352x480 ( or 352x576 PAL ) with the template, so it takes longer than a standard VCD.

But you do encode while you sleep, don't you

Sleep?

Haha... you mean I should wait until saturday, when I sleep, to encode?

I'm like you Kwag! Sleep is for the weak and the helpless.

THanks for the reply. Maybe if this one takes that long, I'll finally get the result I'd like.
