Hi all.

The KDVD templates are great, but I am having problem with TMPG while trying to convert 23.976fps AVI Divx to 25fps PAL DVD. Although I am using the KDVD PAL template I know my problem ISN'T a fault of the template as it happens even when trying to convert AVI to PAL DVD without a template. But anyway, my problem is the video stuttering that happens, every second seems to stutter. Yet this doesn't happen if converting it to the same frame rate, so obviously this is the problem. But what can I do ? There is no pull down options for PAL. Other software I have, like Vegas Video seems to resample every frame, which is great, but it doesn't accept KDVD templates (or any templates).

Does anyone have any advice ? I think I have tried every option. But the fact no one else seems to mention this, either means I am the only one using PAL or no one else gets the problem (or they just don't mind). Perhaps I am being too fussy, but in the movie I am converting there is a lot of high speed chases and camera panning, and it looks terrible stopping and starting every second.

Any help would be much appreciated !! If you can suggest any other software that templates can be used then also let me know.

Thanks every for the great work !!

Jon

If the original is 23.976 fps and you convert it to 25 fps the result is a "stuttering" file, I have had the same problem, just encode ´em to 23.976 fps!

But then you can't record them to a PAL DVD surely ? I tried this and my burning software told me the file wasn't compatible.

I have sorted the problem out now though, I am converting them in Virtual Dub and then re-converting them in TMPG, the result is a perfect smooth 25fps DVD.

I live in Finland and it´s PAL here too, it works just fine! Make a sample and try it first!

Which burning software do you use ? I have tried most and they say the file isn't compliant. Should I select PAL or NTSC ?

Use Nero or VCDEasy, in Nero you must uncheck create standard compliant cd,
Use PAL if you have encoded them 25 fps!
