Has anyone tried using the "Notch" matrix with XviD? I record TV shows and only need them on my PC, so I am trying to get the best compression, without having to worry about compatibility with a stand alone. DivX does not seem to offer the option to change matrices. I get great compression\quality with KVCD and Avisynth, but I am just playing around to see if I can get anymore.

Hello!

I never tried it myself, but on Xvid you can actallu edit quant matrix.
On advanced options, qunatization, edit quantizer matrix.

I use the uManiac version of Xvid (it plays some freezing xvid I have) found at http://xvid.hopto.org

If you do some test, keep us informed of your success and post your parms.

Good luck!
