Did you try turning proxyon, and frameserving as .avi instead of.vdr?

Can I use yours templates in another encoder?. As you can see, I'm very (entusiasmado) with KVCD!!!
Thanks again.

Hi PeterArg:

I strongly suggest Windows XP ( Agh! ), because it's the most stable ( of the complete Microsoft unstable branch )
Hopefully, some day, we'll be able to run our rippers/encoders/etc in the Linux/FreeBSD/U*ix world

im trying really hard to not make this a linux/windows/lindows thing---
, eh, kwag... im gonna move to linux,,,but i do have to keep windows,
the way i look at it,,, if windows was stable and worked,, i wouldnt have a consulting career. ,

anyway,,,to your problem peter,,
w98 is okay as an os for kvcd, like K said try renaming the file to filename.vdr.avi or filename.avi,,and see if tmpgeng takes it.

I try to install the handler first though, before frameserving.
in the virtual dub folder, there should be a utility called auxsetup.exe. Run that first, choose the Install Handler option, ok twice,,,the you can doubleclik the proxyon.reg file, to turn on, sort of speak, the frameserver.
Run virtual dub, enable filters, do any editing, cropping etc, that u need to do. Then, frameserv, file, frameserver, save as filename.avi, and see if tmpgenc takes your file now.

If not, you could try to run your avi (its kind of doing it twice though), but
VFapi Converter.

You may need to add msvcr70.dll to your system32 folder. Others have recently had to do this, see VCDHelp forum. I myself used to be able to frameserve with VirtualDub, stopped working. Searched for and found this file on my system, copied to SYSTEM32, it worked again. Not sure how it broke, but I *did* install .NET so that may have "broken" it.
Check it out, maybe that's your problem too.
