Want template for non-VCD MPEG1 for high quality display
I am seeking a template for TMPGEnc that will generate MPEG1 output at 640x480 but be played back from a CD. This would be for business presentations so as long as the file will fit on a CD, file size is not a issue. It also needs to be a datarate that will be within the range of most common CD drives.
Is anyone aware of templates that meet these expectations? Thanks |
Hi moviestar,
Take the KVCDx3 MPEG-1 template, and change the resolution on the template to 640x480. Also change the default CQ, and set it to 100. Now you'll have excelent quality and still a reasonable file size for your encodes to be played back on PCs  -kwag |
Kwag,
Thanks so much for the quick response. I will give it a try. |
Is this right?
Kwag,
You said to use the KVCDx3 MPEG-1 template. I found the following: http://www.kvcd.net/KVCDx3-MPEG-1-NTSCFilm Is this the one you are referring to? If not, can you please give me the correct URL? Also, this should be a frame rate of 29.97. Isn't NTSCFilm a different rate? I have a presentation that I captureed from a Video8 tape at 720x480, NTSC, 29.97 frame rate. I have edited it in Premiere and I am ready to frameserve it out to TMPGEnc and then burn it to a CD for common PC user playback. Just want to make sure I am being clear in my intent. Thanks for your help. |

Kwag,
Thank you for fixing me up. I will try this out tonight. |
Kwag,
I downloaded http://www.kvcd.net/KVCDx3-MPEG-1-NTSCFilm, but it is for video only. It says: 'Audio part will not be included in the file.' I need this to have audio also. Do you have a template that does both video and audio for creating a MPEG1 at 640x480 with a data rate appropriate for playing back from CD drives on common PC's? Thanks |
Edit the template and select "System(Video+Audio)" and save it
