KVCD with two audio streams?
First of all I would like to thank all of you out there who made KVCD what it is today, an unbeatable conversion methode.
I'm an american living in europe and my wife is german, therefor I needed a way to have my KVCD's in both english and german. You're probobly thinking right now, forget it cause it's not possible, but it is. Here's what I do. I convert to KVCD like everyone else, then I go to TMPGE->File->MPEG Tools->Multiplex. Set my Type to "MPEG-2 Super VideoCD(VBR)" add my KVCD(with the main audio stream allready multiplexed) and my second audio stream. Set an output name and hit Run. My standalone thinks it's got a SVCD even though It's actually still an MPEG-1 (I think) all i know is it works every time. The video quality is of course not as good if I still want to fit to one cd, cause I have to leave room for two audio streams. File prediction is a probleme doing this but maybe someone here could give me a tip. THX |
If you're using ToK to predict, highlight both audio files, right click and click Properties. It should say the combined size in bytes. Copy the size it gives you, and download "Visual Dummy Filebuilder" (cant remember exact link, try a search on Google) paste the copied number into it, click "Go". Rename the file to something like "fake.mp2" and select this file as the audio in ToK. Just don't let ToK multiplex this file...

Hi Intruder!
Welcome ! what you're describing there is the header trick. You multiplex an MPEG1 file as an SVCD. If your player supports it, and you're able to watch movies with 2 audio streams that way, congrats to you! here's my tip for the filesize prediction: If you use ToK (or even if you're not), just use 1 audio stream at the desired bitrate, and double it. so if Headache or ToK tells you your audio stream at 128kbit will be 75mb, just use 150mb for further calculations. |
BtW: You burn as an SVCD after that right? What resolution does you file have?

And the resolution is always 352x288 Pal. That's the only template my standalone will take. For Prediction I'm using this code....... http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic....r=asc&start=30 I get the best results with this, I just have to change the cd size each time to the desired size minus one audio stream. |
