KVCD: File size too big?

I just encoded a DVD trailer of 1 minute duration with the KVCDx2 template with TMPGEnc and the result was a 15MB file. If 1 minute is that size, i think it's not possible to fit 120 mins of a movie in one CD.
Please, i need help, what can i change to reduce the file size and have good quality of video?

120+ minutes in one CD has been done with KVCD templates by hundreds of people ( if not thousands, by now  ).
You can't use a one minute clip as a reference!
That was probably a high action scene clip.
When you encode a full movie, the resulting file size is an average.
If you were to encode a one minute clip of low action, or low light scene, the file would probably be around 6MB.
But not every 2 hour video will fit. Some will fit with room to spare, some will fit exactly, and some will go way beyond 800MB.
It all depends on the type of video

Yes kwag you are right, i made Jurassic Park 3 and the final size was 680 mb with kvcdx2 for 1 cd, kvcdboy please check you are using the right template, maybe you are trying to make a one cd movie with the 2 cd's template.

By the way, my good friend kwag, there is no way we can put 180 mins movie in two cd's with KVCDx2(2CD) :( , i made Pearl Harbor and it was 2.2GB (original temp.) and 1.8GB (at CQ=60) but i have no place to cut 200 mb, in spite of it i have no doubt that a 2 hour movie will fit in two cd's. right now i'm making A.I. and it maybe will fit since it is only 2 hrs and 24 mins against 2 hrs and 54 of Pearl Harbor.

Will let you know the results this afternoon.

Saludos!

Hi DaDe !
File with 1.8 Gb you easily can put on 2 CD-R90's with 940mb capacity each.
Try it ...!!!
I believe cd-R90 will be compaitble with your DVD player and will solve your problem.
And with others that will read this post :
KWAG's template is great ; so make it greather with CD-R90 .
IT ALLOWS SO MUCH ...

Good luck !

Yes you are right, but 90 mins CD's twice the price of 80 mins cd's, so it will be like if i'm using four 80 mins cd's, well anyway, maybe i give it a try when my 90 mins CD's arrive.

Good news, A.I. was 1.5 BG (Original temp. without changes) in the end with subtitles and aaaall credits, it will fit easily in two 80 mins CD's. Beautiful!!!

I think i will use 2 cd template for movies larger than 2 hours, and the 1 cd template for 2 hours or less movies. By the way i deactivate the checkbox under minimum bitrate, and i saw the size go down about 1 meg every 2 mins, it's not too much but it's something, also deactivate again the no motion search for still picture, since i don't see any changes with it checked. Please confirm this, maybe it has problems with the players... i still dont know.
