Hi Jorel,
How Feurio's capacity-test works: You define the amount of dummy-file
in kiloBytes (should be slightly more than you expect that your CD-R
media can hold) which will be generated by the prog and a burning-task
will be simulated....Feurio will exactly tell you the position where the
first write-error appeared...so you got the max capacity of your media.
Next step will be to test if your standalone will handle that much of data.

The brand I'm using for 99min. CD-R is called "Primeon", and I was able to fit a 1GB movie on it, with overburn, and it played fine until the very last second on my ADL-528
I know that a DVD-RW works on my Cyberhome at least. I can't remember the brand though, but it was the cheapest DVD-RW available...
no problems here.

Thanks Jellygoose,
The last media-type I didn't tried yet, think I will go out to buy a
DVD-RW this week

@mfb:
go to htp://www.cyberhome-help.de for more info on yourt player. There has beena number of different loaders used in the 528 and someone there has a webpage with a lot of stats in these. I think its bullfrog who has collated a lot of info,
Cheers,

I think if you look for postings by DragonSF in that forum he posted something about creating good DVD's. As I don't have a DVD writer i haven't paid that much attention.
Must of the 528 owners have opted to install 3rd party dvd roms. If i find the postings i'll send on the details,
Cheers,

I'm thinking about getting the Cyberhome CH-DVD550 for 99 euros...
has anyone got experiences with that player? it's supposed to be better than the 528.
is it compatible with all KVCD templates?

I`ve done a firmware-update to 10.1 which was the latest a couple of
month ago, but I don't know the firmware of the DVD-ROM drive inside,
I even don't know the branch...the hidden menue shows a blank entry
for DVD-ROM REV.
thank you guys, ***mfb***

There's no CH DVD 550, there's only a CH DVD 505. I own the CH DVD 505 and it's amazing. It's a great player, far better than any other Cyberhome Player. It supports every KVCD Template at every resolution. I don't even use the PAL Resolution (...x576) I use the the NTSC resolution (...x480), to get a smaller filesize.
For 99 € don't hesitate, just buy it.

Hi there,
I am wondering if anyone has bought that lovely Plextor burner? If so, please tell me if this burner supports 90-min CD-R. I really want to know and taste what is it like to have 1260MB (900MB x 1.4) on a SINGLE CD-R.

Just made my first KVCD disk movie: "Unforgiven" in widescreen "letterbox" format, maybe thats why I was able to fit the whole movie on a single 80 minute CDR. Used a KVCDx3 528x480 moviestacker preset for it, set it for a max bitrate of 2200,and a CQ of 70,and streamed it as an mpeg1. Still for some "unknown" reason, had to manually multiplex it in bbmpeg even though I did check the VCD multiplex button in Tok.Anyways, it looked, sounded, and played like a DVD on my Cyberhome CH-500 player...except for the total time elapsed displayed at 80 minutes, but I think I saw the whole movie.Even though I try to get as much info as I can from the forums, its been basically trial and error for me so far.

Can Somebody confirm me how much data (in KVCD mode) fits in 90 and 99 min cds? couse they are easy to find here and they are about 10-35% more expensive. If for 80 Min is 800MB for 90 min is 900? and for 99 990MB??? I don`t think it`s like that but sounds logical :P

Just be careful with the 99 minute CDs
Most players don't play all the way to the end
That's the comments I keep hearing.
