If you look around these forums you'll notice a lot of posts by kwag, the creator of KVCD, so I would assume it means:
Kwag's Video CD.

The "K" is for "Kwag" or "King" of VCD, which is also Kwag! :yippie:

You call yourself Encoder Master and you don't know that?!?!

Shame on you!

I don't know it because Kwg isn't very good and popular.
I'm the best and I was also interested in newcomers

Kwag isn't very good? Have a look at some of the results we've got here! All thanks to kwag's work! And then you say hes not very good?!

And not very popular?!? I think you'll find that the majority of people into encoding have heard about KVCD, and just look at the amount of people on this forum!!

You're the best?
a) You really dont seem to know anything about advanced encoding, just load your "CVCD" template, adjust the average bitrate and click Go!
b) You call your template CVCD, although it's just another XVCD template using 2-pass VBR and a lowered audio quality. Unlike KVCD, which has an optimized GOP, matrix and resolution, and uses CQ.

Sounds like you're the newcomer to me....

First my 2pass AdvanceVCD Templates are better than the CQ because this feature does't show all frames I've test it with 25fps and also my friend said it. Only 24,5. With 2pass isn't it and my matrix is also selfmade and better than KVCD. Because I don't use the same Matrix.
80min default matrix and also 90 min 100 bis 150 min my 3 different matrixes. And it's my experience that I've better Movies as KVCD.
But that's what I think.
120min on one 800MB CD-r is a little bit better than the standart VCD.
And if the sound isn't very good at 128kbps then I take the AC-3 sound and muxed it.
Perfect.

Like I said before I think so. An I don't want to manipulate the people on this board.

How could this be true? That means the movie would slow down very slightly, unless you mean it just loses half a frame...I dont see how you can even have half a frame....

Perfect.
But then it wouldn't fit on one CD-R would it!? And using the KVCD method 112 kbps is always great quality!

But anyway, I dont want to start a flame war. Any ideas where I could download your templates and try them out for myself?
If the result is better than KVCD, I'll believe you.

if you like I send you my 80min on 700MB 100min and 120min.
It's only experience but open a CQ Movie with Windows Media Player 6,4
The older version. And then on proberties I think and the double click on the VideoRender and you see it . 25fps it's between 24,5 and 24,9
so I choose 2pass but it's your choise.
Can you say me your E-Mail and I send the Templates to You?

Encoder Master

P.S.:The GOP is default because I've never problems with this feature.

This guy is cracking me up, sorry

Do you really think WMP 6.4 is a good tool to check if the framerate of a movie is correct? It's not possible that CQ mode takes away half a frame from a video stream.
We have proven it many times that CQ beats TMPGEnc's 2-pass-VBR.

BtW: what resolution do you use in your templates?

Not only the Windows media player show this also a lot of friends say it.
I often use 352x288 and sometimes 352x576 or 480x576. But the best quality is with 352x288 or 352x240

At the loss of a lot of sharpness!

Man, you continue to refer to yourself as the Encoder Master but appear to have no knowledge of certain encoding-related things..like frameserving!

You're supposed to use the checkboxes to select the filters that you want to use. Read some of the stuff at the Optimal Scripts and AviSynth forums.

Much better.

Anyway, send me those templates, and I'll compare them myself.

PyRoMaNiA, why do you encourage this guy? Some newbie's going to read this guy's sh!t and believe he really is an "Encoder Master" rather than a "Master Bater"! He takes some basic settings on TMPEG, ups the bitrate, runs it thru 2 pass, and thinks he's doing something! I have been using the KVCD templates for months with a few modifications, and my customers have been thrilled with the quality! I have posted messages thanking Kwag for all of his hard work, and now we have this flamer talking crap who doesn't even know how to use video filters!

I don't know, I just like testing things... ...although I very much doubt these templates are anything better than KVCD, but I'll try to keep an open mind anyway.

@"Encoder Master"
Wow, thats a big selection of Q-matrices...although they look a bit basic to me compared to the KVCD Notch. I compared the AVCD 120 minute NTSC template to the KVCDx2 352x240 NTSC and KVCDx2 352x480 NTSC templates, as they are both rated at 120 minutes average.

But based on my results.... no offence meant but your templates do suck ....120 minutes a CD better than VCD quality? Doesn't look like it to me...standard VCD would look nicer. Mosquitos all over the place, the KVCD 352x240 version was much cleaner. The 352x480 encode I did looked a bit sharper at least, and in most places looked better than the AVCD one, there were a few more DCT blocks because of the higher res though...but I would still favour it over the AVCD version.

I tried to make it a fair test, so I made sure all the files were around 1.03MBs, as the AVCD one was. The default settings on the KVCD templates still looked quite a bit better than AVCD......I only raised the CQ to try and make it a fairer test...I used the same AviSynth script on all tests, although it seems to me that you never used an AVS script with your AVCD templates before, but the KVCD versions were still superior.
Did you actually try the KVCD templates yourself? I recomend you do.

If you want to stick with your AVCD thats fine with me, but I think I'll carry on using KVCD, as I have been.

Oh no problem.
But I use AVCD because I'm from Germany and we say
"Was der Bauer nicht kennt isst er nicht!"

But the conversation about KVCD and AVCD are very nice.

This sentence applies exactly to you. I am sure u never tried KVCD as you don't know how to use Avisynth at all.
I am from Germany too. As MVCD is used to be the best template in Germany i tried it. You are like the MVCD guys... always talking about that all the templates you made r better than KVCD but never tried them.
