KVCD as 480x576 mpeg1 ?

we just got a new dvd player, unfortunally it doesnīt accept kvcdx3 (528x576), but it reads svcd (480x576)

does this automatically mean, that it will accept 480x576 mpeg1, too, or could there be a problem because in the one case itīs mpeg2 and in the other case itīs mpeg1?

No, it doesn't necessarily mean that it will play mpg1 at that particular resolution...you'll need to try it and see. Personally, I'll never buy myself another dvd player without testing the KVCD Compatibility Test CD v2.0 in it beforehand to make sure they all work! good luck.

It is Player-dependant. Mine isn't accepting 480x576 with mpeg1.
Have you already looked up your Player model in the Compatibility Chart ?
You can find it here:
