KVCD: possible to use 240x480 resolution?
Was just looking at some of the TMPGEnc SVCD templates and it looks like this is a non standard SVCD res like 352x576...has anyone ever tried this resolution? I've never heard of it before... :? ...half SVCD res... third D1.
Was just wondering if it's any good. Is it a standard resolution for anything? |

It will probably look correct on height, but not on width. Try it! Encode a small sample and burn it to CD-RW. I know I did a long time ago, when I was trying the whole resolution spectrum from 240x176 all the way up to 800x600 8O, and it didn't display the correct aspect on my player. -kwag |
Didn't play correctly in PowerDVD, and didn't look great anyway, so I didnt even bother to burn it. I suppose I might have done if it wouldn't have been a waste of a CD-R...have to get round to buying a CD-RW some time.

That just reminded me that I have to update the Pocket PC templates with the new "Notch" matrix. Those templates still use the old (way old) parameters :? I wonder if there are people really using those templates. Last time I used it, was to encode the complete "The Matrix" movie, and it went complete with audio at 64Kbps in a file size of 128MB and really looked excelent on a Pocket PC screen

352x480 plays just fine here.
I thought that 352x576 would be just the equivalent PAL resolution. |
It was a typo. I was refering to 240x480(576) :D

Hehe....apparently 704x288 is a legal resolution for DVD... 8O Have you tried this one? Is it any good? Seems to me like its just half D1 the other way round.... :?
