KVCD: Kvcd3 Template Changes?

I'm new to the forums, but have been using the templates for a while. I just reinstalled all my stuff and instead of going into my archives, I came here and downloaded the KVCD3 (MPEG2)(NTSC) templates again. Some settings have changed and I noticed a significant degradation of my converted videos.

I use TMPG Plus 2.59. The old template I had was CQ_VBR, quality 25, bitrate from 300-2500 while the new one is CQ 60. Both produce roughly equivalent filesizes, but the new template is extremely grainy.

Have I done something wrong?

Hi Mike,

First of all, get rid of 2.59. It's full of bugs
Use 2.58 or 2.510 only.
You must use file prediction in order to achieve good quality. The CQ values in the templates are there just as a reference point. Check the file prediction forum, or head over to the ToK or acp forum
