KVCD settings for movie squeezed to 1 CD?
:D Hello out there....
First of all I have to say those Templates are a Masterpiece! Thx KWAG! But now letīs head to my Problem: I tried to encode "Predator" (142Min) and squeeze it with the KVCD Pal Template (used as it is) to 1 CD... I used FitCD to create the .avs and encoded with TMPEG. The Result was 829MB... A little too big, so I thought that I would lower the CQ-Factor from 70 to 67 and the Result was that the Movie was 845MB... And I asked myself how can this be... And what should I do now? Lower the max. Bitrate of the Template or the CQ Factor in Order to get it squeezed to 1 CD??? Help is very appreciated... Hereīs the .avs - File (in Case it is of interest) LoadPlugin("C:\Programme\GordianKnot\MPEG2DEC.dll" ) mpeg2source("E:\PREDATOR\vts_01.d2v") BilinearResize(352,448,21,0,678,576) #TemporalSmoother(2,2) AddBorders(0,64,0,64) #Trim(0,153321).FadeOut(150) #ResampleAudio(44100) # CCE 2.5 'crashfix' for Athlons #== If you want this 'fix' permanently, edit the INI-file: #== Under [AVSscript] set the CCEcrashfix-option to #== CCEcrashfix=1 Cu Easy123 |
Hi Easy123:
I suggest you use the CQ of 70 like your first encode, but before starting to encode, go to TMPEG and select source range. Then encode from the start to 1 or 2 minutes before the end of the movie. So that you cut off a minute or two off the end credits. Now your file should be around 810-815MB and that will fit nicely in a 80 minute CD-R. kwag |
thx Kwag..
then I have to cut off something the Movie (which I hate, even if itīs the Credits)... Easy123 |
If you can't squeeze that movie into 1 cd by cutting off the credits then I would definately re-encode that movie to 2 cds with the 2cd template (I wouldn't want to lose any video quality from the awesome special effects from this great movie!)
@ glad you're not talking about "Spiderman" (there's sooo much hype on this that I've lost my interest- The movie CAN'T be as good as the spiderman cartoons I grew up watching.. |
Well, guys here we go again....
I cut of the last 2 minutes (I guess) of that movie and the result was 799MB (I think it canīt get closer)... Now I will burn and watch it and tell you how it looks.... CU Easy123 |
So I watched it and I think that Íīm really overwhelmed... Damn good picture Quality (for 1CD!) but sometimes the Audio weakens this impression... (due to metallic sounds)... But for 1CD damn good!!!
THx Kwag for these templates... Coming next: Starship Troopers... Easy123 |

Try to use 160Kbps for audio, if you can. I'm starting to use that setting. I also notice some metallic high pitch sounds on some DVD's. But not all. At 160Kbps, the sound is much better, while not adding that much size to the file. At 160Kbps the file size will be about 14MB per hour more than at 128Kbps. kwag |

Good luck though |
TMPGEnc sucks for audio encoding. Try TooLame or an other VBR mp2 encoder

@drnicotine:
You were right.. Starship Troopers got way to big. 1,4GB with the KVCD Template... But I tried Legally Blonde and voila 796MB with 160Kbit sound.. Damn good! I think I will not use DivX / XVID for a long Time now.... :lol: CU Easy123 |
