I just encoded the Matrix and when all was said and done my file size was about 820 Mb. Of course this didn't fit on a CDR very well so i decided to get rid of the end credits. When I did this it dropped to 275 Mbs......what the hell happened.

Hi StMichael,

Was the 820MB with audio, or was it only the video stream?

Strange!

820 Mbs probably would fit on a CD though, overburned to around 82 minutes.

hi ...

could you tell me when you encoded it were the audio and video lengths the same langth in seconds or different?? also what res did you use?

I just tried it at 702 x 576 and it looks awesome. I for some reason have a little bit of looping in my vob file about 4 mins in where a 3second bit repeats itself again, then plays normal then another 3 second clip repeats itself. I tried extracting the vob again and i get exactly same thing. i tried dvddecryptor and smartripper for this. Any sugggestions how i could fix it would be appreciated.

I am not worried about overburning. I just wanted to know why it went from such a large file to a lot smaller file just by cutting 10 mins off the end.........?????????????

How exactly did you cut the end credits? The way I do it is with BBMpeg. You set the start seconds to 0, and the end seconds to the time where you want to cut. You find that point with Vdub. Then you mux and the result is a perfect file without end credits. DON'T USE TMPEG TO CUT

You can never tell the exact point of the cut with TMPEG, because you're cutting an MPEG file, and you can't accurately edit/cut mpeg files. That's why I suggest BBMPEG to mux/cut on a time base.

Seems the file got "un-padded" somehow

I have tried many many times using different software programs, and the limit of my 80min. CDRs have been 823MB. Is it really possible to put 840MB on 80Min.CDR? How? Thanks
