Muxing problem

Managed to solve my problem concerning different length audio video; I was using v1.85 of DVD2AVI. Went back to the older version and now everything is OK.

However when I mux the encoded streams together using TMPEGEnc everything *plays* fine but when I use VCDEasy to burn my KVCD I get the VCD being too long. Somerthing to do with the headers in the file. I've had this before and used bbMPEG. However when I use it now (using the suggested settings of Sansgrip) the file increase from what *should* be ~760Mb to 2250mb!!!

Any idea of the problem cos I cant burn it!!

Are you sure that "VBR" is checked in BBMPeg?

It wasnt checked which I have now rectified. However it has had the opposite effect! The file is now 6mb larger than then encoded video and has no sound!! By the way TMPEGEnc gave an

"5s packets cause buffer underflow" error

but plays fine when multiplexed by TMPEGEnc (just cant burn it!!).

Don't forget to set.

Forced mux rate to "0" instead of 2523 or whatever is stnadar in BBmpeg.

Had done that as wel :)

I usually get that error when I've encoded the audio wrong or TmpgEnc settings are not quite right. Check the audio is 44.1 and the video is vcd non standard then try muxing with bbMpeg.

The video was done with ToK 553 so I wasnt *expecting* any problems with that. The audio was demuxed by DVD2AVI and then transcoded by Headac3e to mp2 as stereo VBR 128bit and downsampled to 44.1

I believe your MP2 file created by HeadAC3he needs to be CBR, not VBR. That may be the cause of your problem. Then mux following the screenshot for Sansgrip's recommended bbmpeg settings. :)

Absolutely right. The audio is now encoded fine and can be muxed by either bbmpeg or TMPEGEnc. No error messages and both play fine.

However when I drop the bbmpeg muxed file into VCDEasy I get the following error. Very odd. Unfortunately I cant burn the TMPEGEnc file cos I get the following "standard" error (i.e. it always happend with TMPEGEnc):

ERROR: Length of toc (84:15:23, 379148 blocks) exceeds capacity of CD-R (79:57:74, 359849 blocks).

when the file is only 756,954Kb

Any ideas??

Fixed. Would appear it was just a bad file. I remuxed then OK. Have tried burnign with latest VCDEasy and I get another error!! I tried a Simulation and I get the following which hangs my machine

No error: scsi sendcmd: cmd timeout after 20s

this always happens when its writing the lead-in, 10mb through.
